A Special Torah Study — A great way to “get in shape” for the High Holidays

August 11, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Dear Chevre,

Traditionally, with the start of Elul (the month before the High Holidays begin), Jews all over the world enter into a period of spiritual unfolding. We ready ourselves for the demanding, but gratifying work of reconnecting to ourselves, to our community and to the divine, Makor Haayim –the Source of Life.

This last connection – a connection to some kind of force beyond the human — may be especially hard for some of us –who connect to Judaism as an ethical, cultural, intellectual and or social framework, but aren’t all that comfortable with the idea of God.

On Saturday, August 11 ( Rosh Hodesh Elul (the beginning of this special month) we will meet to study and discuss some Torah texts focusing on “Metaphors for God.” Together we try to both engage our discomfort around the idea of God and to expand our understanding of what “God” (and all Her many many names ) might mean for us as we enter into this period of spiritual renewal.

When: Saturday, August 11 9:30-11 am.

Where: Use the Contact Us form for more information

All the material is in English – no prerequisites or expertise necessary –just open minds and hearts…

Hope to see you…

L’Shalom,

Maeera
