Reconstructionism leaves the maximum amount of decision making up to you, Shira. It’s not rabbi-centered, but rather community-centered. I recommend our web page “More about Reconstructionist Judaism” and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College’s resource page: http://www.rrc.edu/resources/reconstructionist-resources
Good afternoon,
I was looking at synagogues in the area, and come from a conservative background. Could you explain briefly the difference between conservative Judaism and Reconstructionist? They sound similar (from my experience), but I am intrigued and would like to learn more.
Thanks very much,
Shira
Thanks!
We would be delighted to have the girls join us. They’ll find Rabbi Michael Ross engaging both spiritually and intellectually–and totally approachable. No tickets necessary. I’ll email you a parking pass for the Kol Ami parking lot. As at the front desk and they will direct you to the Chavurah services in the Pepper Chapel.
Hello, I work at a boarding school in Spanish Fork. We have a few girls who are Jewish and would like to attend a service for Yom Kippur. I am wondering if we need to get tickets or anything, and what I need to do in order for them to attend the service at 10am-1pm on the 8th.
Thanks so much.
no tickets necessary, Nathan. All are welcome; if you join us for dinner, bring anything you wish to add to the vegetarian potluck.
best, Steve Trimble
Do we need tickets for the Friday night Shabbat Shuvah service and potluck at Kol Ami, or is that free to the public? Shana Tova!
Everyone is welcome, Lori. Tickets are free, but please let us know you are coming and we’ll email you a printable ticket and parking pass. We look forward to having you with us for the holiday.
I will be in Salt Lake City over Rosh Hashanah without my family. I am looking for a shul. Can anyone attend? Do I need to buy tickets?
