Our Services

 Our services are particpatory and lay led.We  hold an intergenerational family service and a vegetarian potluck once a month at Kol Ami. We begin with the potluck in the Youth Lounge at 6:30 and then move to the service in the Pepper Chapel at 7:30. The first 20 minutes of the service is musical and family oriented, after which the children are excused for formal children's activities during the service continuation and adult discussion time that follows.

Monday, Sept. 29 – Erev RH
6:00 p.m. Vegetarian potluck dinner in religious school wing of Kol Ami. Everyone please bring a vegetarian dish to share.
7:30 p.m.  Reconstructionist service in Pepper Chapel, followed by shared Oneg                       Shabbat w/KA 

Tuesday, September 30 – RH
10:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. – Reconstructionist/Reform Service in Youth Sanctuary

 All CBY children are invited to participate in the KA childrens’ services, beginning at 11 am.  Separate services will be offered for toddlers, preschoolers, and youth.

 Tashlich –  6 pm - Tashlich at the Goldsteins, 4834 So. Naniloa Drive. Potluck
vegetarian dinner. Bring a jacket & be prepared to watch your kids
closely (stream in back yard).

6:30 p.m. – Reconstructionist service in Pepper Chapel

Thursday, October 9 – YK
10:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. - Reconstructionist/Reform service in Youth Sanctuary
1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. -  Break-out groups
2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. - Chanting in Pepper Chapel
6:00 – Reconstructionist Yizkor in Pepper Chapel
6:30 – Reconstructionist/Reform Neilah in main sanctuary,  followed by Havdallah and Reconstructionist Break-the-Fast in religious school wing. CBY will provide bagels, lox, and cream cheese. Bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Sukkot:

Friday, October 17th, at home of Kathi and Sam Cohen
4:30 pm - kids' program
5:30 pm - other families arrive for potluck dinner. Bring a vegetarian dish to share
6:15 pm - short service.

Movie Nights

We will be having four movie nights throughout the year, meeting in people's homes for Havdallah (with dessert potluck) and a Jewish movie, followed by a discussion about the movie.
